Winter's Farewell, Hello Spring!

Image
Winter has finally said goodbye, and spring is here! It's my second spring here in a four-season country, and each season has its own unique beauty. It feels like only yesterday we were preparing for heavy snowfall and snowstorms, bundled up in our winter clothes. Spring is here, and soon flowers will bloom. A season for new beginnings. Also, I'm just a few weeks away from finishing my studies. I can't wait for the adventures of spring!

A Refreshing Stroll at Mapleton Park - Embrace the Tranquil Magic of Winter

Image
There's something magical about a winter walk, especially when surrounded by the towering pine trees and a blanket of snow beneath your feet. Today, my husband and I ventured into the enchanting Mapleton Park for a midday stroll that turned out to be more rejuvenating than we could have imagined. As the clock struck noon, the sun cast its soft glow on the snow-covered ground, creating a picturesque scene of tranquility. The air was crisp, and the scent of pine filled our senses as we stepped into the heart of nature. Mapleton Park, with its majestic pine trees, provided the perfect backdrop for our leisurely journey. The crunch of snow beneath our boots set a rhythm for the peaceful walk, and the tranquility of the surroundings instantly lifted our spirits. During our exploration, we encountered fellow park enthusiasts – some with lively dogs bounding joyfully by their side, and others enjoying the company of their human companions. Warm greetings were exchanged, creating a sense o

Siquijor - Surprisingly Enchanting Island

Image
Siquijor is one of the small island provinces in the Philippines, located at the Central Visayas region. It is not uncommon to hear a tale or two of witchcrafts and sorcery in this island province, hence it is also known as  The Mystical Island of the Philiippines . This could be the reason why local tourism was not much visible during our stay last June 2015 , as we have seen more foreigners than local tourists. Good side, though, is the obvious well preserved state of its nature. An enchanting island full of surprises, a far cry from its reputation. It is one of the best Philippine destinations to enjoy even you're on a tight budget. The total expenses we had during our 3D2N Dumaguete City & Siquijor trip was around PHP7000 (based on two persons). The budget breakdown can be seen here . Although there is an airport in the island province, there is no direct flight from Manila to Siquijor. It can be accessed via ferry from Dumaguete Port. As seen from my previous post,

This blog post was supposed to be a #HugotThrowback (for when you miss traveling) the past year of frequent travels, pero pag tingin ko sa pictures, mas masarap alalahanin ang mga kulitan at saya. So here goes my random 15 for 2015.   1. That Feel na Feel biking - Ito yung mega scarf pa ako with mountaineer's hat...samahan mo pa ng sleeves at earphones, and pink shades! Tapos yung kasama mo simpleng shirt, shorts at sandals lang.   Ternate, Cavite January 2015 Snapseed filter - for that padramathon effect 2. Solo Biking and Welcoming my Rural Life - This was during my 30 day - turn over period at my previous job at Makati, and would be transferring to my new job which was in my homeland - Cavite. Of course, I was very much excited for the transition that I'd sometimes skip work and all I did was feeling the soon to be my rural living - tambay sa bahay, bike sa umaga, I really missed living in the province and its simple low cost living, I was
