Winter's Farewell, Hello Spring!

Winter has finally said goodbye, and spring is here! It's my second spring here in a four-season country, and each season has its own unique beauty. It feels like only yesterday we were preparing for heavy snowfall and snowstorms, bundled up in our winter clothes.


Spring is here, and soon flowers will bloom. A season for new beginnings. Also, I'm just a few weeks away from finishing my studies.


I can't wait for the adventures of spring!

DIRECTIONS: 1. Depending on your location, take JEEPNEY BOUND TO NICHOLS at AIRPORT ROAD or ALONG EDSA. 2. Ask the driver to get you off at CIRCULO DEL MUNDO ROTUNDA or near TERMINAL 3. 3. From rotunda, cross the ANDREWS AVENUE and walk to NAIA Terminal 3. (Be careful when crossing the highway as there is no footbridge you can use.) GETTING OUT OF NAIA TERMINAL 3: DIRECTIONS: 1. Tanay, Rizal: Daranak Falls, Mt. Daraitan, Tinipak River Travel Guide

Though Daranak Falls is commonly known as a side trip for Mt. Sembrano among hikers, we managed to squeeze our 2day trip to visit the place before the hike. As seen from the "Rockies 2" of Mt. Daraitan   The highlight of the trip, of course, was scaling Mt. Daraitan. Direct assault to summit in which most part of the trek consists of 60-80 degree climb. Reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with the views of some part of Sierra Madre mountain range, the Polillo Strait and the province of Rizal.  Sea of clouds in the Sierra Madre mountain range The summit can only accommodate 2-3 tents; fortunately, we were able to set up our camp at the summit itself. Mt. Maculot is one of the ideal mountains to hike for the beginners despite the now required guideship fees. Not only it is just hours away from Manila, it also offers one of the most spectacular views after an hour or two of continuous assault. As you go higher, you will be rewarded by the view of Taal Lake, not your usual view when passing by the infamous Tagaytay City.
